As part of vision for Quayside Barking, we are proposing circa 1,760 new homes made up of:

  • Buildings range from 7 storeys in the south up to 29 storeys by London Road, which is in accordance with the Abbey Retail Park development.
  • Four distinct character areas that respond to the surrounding emerging context
  • Character areas differentiated through building materials, ground floor uses and landscape

NEW HOMES FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS AND LONDONERS : Managed by APO_

We anticipate that around 30% of our residents will already be living in Barking and that a further c.40% will currently be living elsewhere in London.

We expect most renters to either be couples or sharing with a friend. However, it’s likely that a good number of single people and families will also live in the homes.

Based on local average earnings, 87% of the homes will be affordable to local individuals, couples and families. More than half of the residents are likely to be earning less than the average London salary of c.£34,000. Most residents are likely to be aged 25-35 but we expect to see a wide range of ages with a good proportion of younger and older residents helping to create a balanced community.
